The "pizzale" of Acropoli
|
The Alatri Acropolis monument
is the symbol of the city and its ancient history. The mammoth
construction is made of strong walls arranged in a polygonal shape,
and completely surrounds the hilltop, forming a huge trapezoidal-shaped
raised landmark. It was presumably begun around the 7th Century
B.C. by the Hernic populations.

| The
olive tree has been cultivated on the sunny hills between Alatri and
Veroli for centuries, giving us unique oil with the characteristic
fragrance of the traditional oil presses and Ciociara land. |
